Sao Paolo, Brazil, September 2, 2008--Westcon Group, Inc., the leading distributor in networking, security, mobility and convergence, is to distribute Google’s Enterprise product line in Brazil. Google’s search appliance, a rack space unit that complements other networking solutions from Westcon, helps companies search and mine their internal corporate networks more effectively. Google (NASDAQ: GOOG), which is participating in Westcon’s ConvergencePoint program, is recognized worldwide for its easy to use search engine technology.

The Google search appliance reduces the time required to locate any type of document within the corporate network, while respecting established security provisions. The solution can improve network efficiency within institutions, governments and a wide range of business sectors while making it easier for customers to find goods and services.

Otavio Lazarini Barbosa, General Manager for Westcon Latin America, commented: “By adding Google’s Enterprise product line, we are helping resellers deliver a comprehensive search capability so companies of all sizes and profiles can more efficiently handle their internal data. Additionally, Google’s hardware appliances fully complement other networking infrastructure solutions we carry from companies like Nortel and Cisco so this can be a perfect add-on to an existing sale as well.”

As part of the product launch, Westcon will be providing training on the Google appliances to ConvergencePoint registrants, including in-person sales and technical seminars. The Google Enterprise product line was designed to meet the needs of small and large companies alike. The Google Mini tracks from 50,000 to 300,000 documents while more robust versions the Google appliance can search up to 30 million documents.

“We chose to work with Westcon in Brazil because of the company’s proven leadership role in networking distribution,” commented Clifton Ashley, Latin American Sales Director of Google.

Ricardo Maskalenka, General Director of RNA Tecnologia, a Brazilian integrator, added: "Companies accumulate thousands of documents each day and searching these requires an enormous investment in time. This obviously has a negative effect on productivity. Westcon and Google will help us deliver solutions that are easy to use and maximize productivity for all our customers.”
